I think niche game desired by niche gamers is more appropriate.
I am not a jrpg fan by any contextual means yet this game appeals to me because I love a good rpg,foreign or otherwise.
JRPG fans may be disappointed and maybe not.I seriously believe the latter.
ME2 is likely decent.....however Dragon Age was not.Bioware has some work to do imo.Maybe some work picked up by others....

Graphically,sure whatever.It is middle ground.
Gameplay wise,it re-invents the genre.No more 8v8,16v16 excuses.That debate is now redundant.
The game is deserving of praise,and it will get it as time goes on.

As long as said sp campaign is worth even 1/4 of the games retail,sure.
A sp campaign like MW's is better left out for reasons I won't go into,suffice it to say cheap,tacked on nonsense done 1000 times before is not something I would appreciate paying for.
RFOM had a good sp campaign imo,or even COD4.

Curious.You admit to not purchasing MAG and yet seem ever vigilant for anything regarding it.Quick to point out it's flaws,on numerous occasions yet again....you have not and likely will not be purchasing it.I am confused.
On topic,this review more closely aligns with my own impressions of the game.It is pretty fun and has exceeded my expectations .=)

I agree,it is a little strange to be honest.
For example,MW2. An almost perfect lesson on complacency and lack of progress yet praised worldwide for exactly that...I fail to understand the thinking involved.
MAG,an experiment in progress with an emphasis on 'changing the landscape' and it is universally shunned....for exactly that.It plays well and is FUN.
Confusing and somewhat odd to say the least.

Seem more of a fascination rather than a meaningful and helpful indicator of a games merits or flaws.
They represent the reviewers opinion and should be taken lightly not considered as the absolute final word.Do you trust pharmaceutical companies to determine what medication is best for you?.If it were so then we would be semi-functional junkies all of us.
Perhaps use the sum of all scores as a guideline but don't base your opinion off that of someone else,find out for yoursel...

I would personally score MAG a high 8 to 9/10.The game has plenty of room to 'grow' and was designed to accommodate such.An ever-changing global conflict that you play a role in.So far,so good,so what?
Yes,the mediocrity of MAG is nearly overwhelming,thank you.In fact my utter lack of interest in SCC is nearly as overwhelming....but nevertheless I remain stalwart.
Hopefully the repellent contains toxic levels of DEET,as most repellents do.
Apply liberally.
